Heating and Cooling FAQs

Common Questions About HVAC:

What Is The Approximate Life Expectancy Of My Equipment?

Most HVAC systems will have a life span of 10 to 20 years. Over time your equipment's efficiency will decrease. When your unit begins to give you problems you can either repair or replace.

How Often Should I Have My Furnace & Air Conditioner Serviced?

You should service your systems at least once every year.  If you stay on top of your maintenance, you will have lower energy and repair costs in the long run. Neglecting the necessary maintenance will affect the performance of your systems.

My System Does Not Work Well In A Couple Of My Rooms, What Should I Do?

There are many reasons this may be happening.

  • Uneven solar heat coming in through your windows
  • An undersized system
  • An improperly balanced system
  • A clogged system
  • A single system serving a two-story home that has no zoning control

What Is The Best Temperature To Set My Thermostat?

The standard cooling settings are anywhere in between 75 degrees to 80 degrees. The standard heating settings are in between 68 degrees to 72 degrees. It is best to set your thermostat to the highest possible setting that is comfortable for you in the summer and the lowest comfortable setting in the winter. Setting your thermostat this way will help maximize your energy savings.

What Is The Best Way To Reduce My Energy Costs?
